Soy Yo Bilingual Middle School Curriculum

Only 19.99 + shipping & handling!

This book includes cultural stories and student activities!

A bilingual middle school curriculum written by youth from Espanola and Pojoaque High Schools in collaboration with Aspectos Culturales.  This curriculum provides educational material about the cultures in New Mexico, specifically the Espanola and Pojoaque Valleys.  Soy Yo provides educational materials which are culturally relevant to the unique and colorful traditions of northern New Mexico.  The students contributed material from their own life experiences and interests toward the development of the curriculum.  We hope this inspires other students and serves as an important educational tool to enhance writing and communication skills on themes that are part of the students' cultural identity.  It offers youth the opportunity to reconnect themselves with their roots, which is vital as they confront the daily challenges of growing up in our modern society.  Thanks also to the teachers of these two schools along with funding provided by the US Department of Human Services/Center for Substance Abuse Prevention, the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation, Roberto Mondragon and Georgia Roybal of Aspectos Culturales.
