The areas in Northern New Mexico, specifically Rio Arriba and Northern Santa Fe Counties, receive national attention about losing the war on substance abuse. The rate of overdoses or crime in this area is more than any child should have to see or read about. Sadly, the people affected by the drugs, alcohol and violence are not just the ones that are abusing the substance, but their entire family has to witness the abuse. All of these tragedies have left feelings of loss for our younger generations leaving them in despair or with little hope for the future.
